100 Days of Holidays-Bucket List Update-5 Days & Counting

  1. Buy the Elf on the Shelf & Book, find unique places for it all season. DONE!
  2. Have all shopping done by December 1st. NOT BY THE 1ST BUT BY THE 14TH
  3. Make/Sell 10 Christmas outfits FINISHING #10 RIGHT NOW!
  4. Go to McAdenville to see the Christmas lights. DONE!
  5. Finally WALK through McAdenville instead of just drive thru it. BOO-TOO COLD
  6. Make a gingerbread house with the kids. THIS COMING WEEKEND
  7. Read 1 Christmas book with the kids every night. PARENT OF THE YEAR-NOT!
  8. Watch as many Christmas shows and movies as possible. TV STAYS ON ABC FAMILY!!
  9. Have Christmas Photos made early. HAHA-ON THE 18TH!
  10. Get Christmas cards mailed by 2nd week December. ON THE 19TH
  11. Go see Christmas House in Kings Mountain more than once. ONCE SO FAR, BUT WE GOT TO WALK AROUND IT THIS TIME!
  12. Find new places to see Christmas lights. NOT YET
  13. Have a Christmas get-together. DONE & 1 MORE!
  14. Add 1 thing to outdoor decorations. WINDOW LIGHTS
  15. Finish painting bedroom. YES BUT IT WAS A DISASTER
  16. Get fish tank to bedroom before setting up Christmas decorations. YES YES YES!
  17. Have shopping list ready by Black Friday. YES
  18. Do all Black Friday shopping online. NOT THAT LUCKY THIS YEAR
  19. Bake with the kids to make gifts for the neighbors. THAT'S THE PLAN FOR THIS WEEKEND
  20. Donate coats to a women/men's shelter. NO BUT WE DID DONATE A BICYCLE TO A CHILD WHO LOST EVERYTHING IN A HOUSE FIRE
  21. Have at least 6 dresses made to try and sell at consignment shop. NO-JUST HAIR BOWS & NECKLACES
  22. Have a booth at a craft fair. YES AND SUCCESS!
  23. Put away sewing machine by December 8th. THE 16TH
  24. Make something for my son to wear this year. NOT LOOKING GOOD.

How about your Bucket List, how is it coming?  I am working on a New Years Bucket List that I will post after Christmas.  No resolutions, just a "list".  Are you making resolutions or a Bucket List for the upcoming year?

100 Days of Holiday Inspiration 2013

Last year I started a series of 100 Days of Holidays and Inspiration and had a lot of fun with it.  I was really hoping to do one again this year, but, I am 12 weeks away from my due date (baby #3!) and I do not feel that I would be able to fulfill my duties of posting to it on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis.  As you can tell, I've been rather scarce around here this year as it is.  This pregnancy has had a few complications along the way, but everything is looking really good right now.  I've been trying to maintain my focus on keeping myself healthy and preparing for childbirth. Planning an Organized Home - Part 1 - Chore Charts

I started a post on this a few weeks ago and started getting so far in to it that it was looking more like a book than a post.  So, I decided to break it down in to a mini series called: Planning an Organized Home It's a short, six part series that I want to share with you on how I started to get our home organized and in a better routine than we have had in the past.  The more routine, the less whining "why do we have to??".  It becomes a part of every day life for every one in the house. The first thing I worked on were chore charts: one for the kids and one for the parents.  While I have a pretty good routine for my own household chores, having it in writing and staring me down keeps me from falling off track so much.  I searched online for different printable and customizable charts, and ended up finding some pre-loaded with my ancient laptop under Microsoft Works.  If you have Microsoft Excel or Word, you can do the same thing.  I attempted ...

Organized Home: Spring Cleaning

This week we welcome spring!  Depending on where you live, that may sound like a joke.  We had spring like weather this weekend, but this week we will drop back to freezing temps at night, and not much better during the day.  I think spring did a little too much springing forward last weekend.  😏 However, our spring break is coming up soon and what better time to do some spring cleaning?  For those of you that do not get a "spring break", have no fear: I have a plan for you as well.  Trying to make that spring cleaning list can seem so endless that you don't know where to begin, or if you even want to.  I always make a list that is unrealistic.  Like there is no way I can do everything possible on my list, and it just stays a list for months and months, until I finally give up and throw it away. Not this year. I have decided to simplify my list.  Well, simplify it after I have made that big, long, never-going-to-get-it-all-done-list....
